Single National Exam Launches January 2026. Are you ready?
Exam Transition Reminder: As of January 2026, the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) will replace the old two-exam model with a new single licensure examination (CPTE). The final written exam under the old system is scheduled for November 26, 2025, and limited seats are available for the last clinical exam through February 2026.
Pathway Change: Applicants can choose the two-exam or single-exam pathway during the transition, but check all deadlines and seat limits carefully. Registration for the new CPTE opens July 2025; the first sitting will be January 2026.

3. Exam Structure/Cost:
CPTE combines written and clinical exams into one, administered virtually, with results released in 4-5 weeks.
Exam fees: CAD$2,500 (discounted to $1,800 for some candidates).
